GAMES AND ACTIVITIES FOR YOUR CANE CORSO

The Cane Corso is an energetic dog who loves spending time with their humans. Thanks to their large, resilient build and high intellectual capacity, Cane Corsi are well suited to many canine activities. Games are always welcome too, especially if they allow your pooch more opportunity for physical exercise!

Are Cane Corsi Athletic?

The Cane Corso breed is very athletic, with a lot of stamina. They are endowed with an impressive musculature and a compact, well-proportioned body. Despite possible joint problems, the Cane Corso will love to join you for all your sporting activities. They are also very good at both hunting and traction sports.

Are Cane Corsi Playful?

Behind the imposing air of a good watchdog, the Cane Corso is a very playful pooch, with both adults and children. They are generally easy-going and have a very patient nature with kids. Be sure to establish boundaries from the start to keep both parties safe, because your Cane Corso's size could cause accidents if they're not careful. If your Cane Corso has been properly socialised, they will also be delighted to play with other dogs. Be careful, however, males can be quite dominant.

What Activities Can I Do with My Cane Corso?

After good physical exercise, your Cane Corso will sleep much better! This is one of the reasons why it's so important to practise regular activities with your dog. It also keeps your pooch in excellent shape. In addition to this, sporting activities help to maintain their mental balance and intellectual capacity.

Cane Corsi can do it all! They excel at traction sports (canicross, trekking, bikejoring, etc.) - except for traction sports in the snow - as well as obedience activities such as agility and flyball. And lest we forget that the Cane Corso is also an excellent hunting dog.

What Kind of Games Do Cane Corsi Like to Play?

Despite appearances, Cane Corsi have an easy-going, calm nature. They love outdoor games but are also quite capable of playing quietly at home. If you live in an apartment, make sure to have lots of games and toys available for your dog in your absence. Here are some ideas for games to play with your Cane Corso:

Big Dog Toys

It is essential to have at least one toy in the house to keep your dog occupied on their own, especially when you're out at work or social events. Cane Corsi retain their puppy mentality for a long time, even after reaching full adult size. So they need to have something to chew on if you don't want them attacking your furniture! Some toys are more suitable for big dogs with fairly strong resistance to adult teeth.

Ball Games or Frisbee

Like all good dogs, Cane Corsi love to play ball! It's a very easy activity to set up, which allows your pooch to get a lot of exercise. You can play it in your garden, but don't forget to go further afield too - it's great for socialising your dog in particular.

Brain Games

Brain games can be played solo or in a group. They often involve a treat that can be eaten at the end, which will keep your pooch entertained for a while! There are other games you can play together with your dog, like hide-and-seek. This is especially ideal if you live in an apartment.
